Zero tolerance for child labor

We are firmly committed to the eradication of child labor. Through internal and external audits, we monitor and prevent any signs of child labor in our supply chain. In addition, we collaborate with the Ministry of Labor and the Secretariat against Sexual Violence, Exploitation and Trafficking in Persons (SVET, as per its initials in Spanish) to develop tools and guides that strengthen our prevention and response capacities.

Guatemala’s sugar mills promote the development of children and youth through 6 high-level educational centers for the children of their workers and nearby communities. Currently, these centers educate 1,839 students, paving the way for a future full of more opportunities.

Participation of women

We encourage the participation of women in the operation and management of the mills, promoting a work environment that values equal opportunities, regardless of gender. We believe in a diverse team where each person, regardless of gender, can reach their full potential and contribute to the progress of our agroindustry.
